The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi), has congratulated Alhaji Tanimu Turaki on his emergence as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Turaki was elected during the party’s peaceful National Convention held at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State. The Speaker described the outcome as a renewed opportunity for national progress, unity, and reconciliation within the party.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, Dr. Suleiman noted that Turaki’s broad experience in public service, leadership, and democratic governance places him in a strong position to steer the party effectively. He expressed confidence that the new chairman would manage internal and external issues with maturity and bring members together through strategic engagement.
He added that Turaki’s emergence reflects the trust and sincerity of the delegates who believe in his ability to revive the PDP, reposition it, and strengthen its appeal ahead of future elections.
The Speaker also expressed optimism that the newly elected executives would work collectively to consolidate the party’s internal cohesion and develop lasting solutions capable of uniting stakeholders and driving the PDP toward success.
“As lawmakers committed to advancing the welfare of our people, we remain dedicated to our constitutional responsibilities. As loyal party members, we will continue to uphold the PDP’s values, protect its reputation, and support its progress,” the statement added.
He prayed for continued success for all members under the PDP umbrella.
