The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi), on Sunday hosted a grand Ramadan iftar for members of the State Assembly, government officials, party stakeholders and other dignitaries in Bauchi.

The gathering, which has become an annual tradition of the Speaker, brought together lawmakers, political stakeholders and constituents to break the fast collectively, offer prayers and reflect on the spiritual significance of the holy month.

In a statement signed by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the event was organised to promote unity, gratitude and collective prayers for peace, stability and economic progress in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.

Addressing the gathering, Rt. Hon. Dr. Suleiman thanked Almighty Allah for granting him the opportunity to organise the iftar and expressed appreciation to his wife, Haj. Abi Hafsat AYS, for her dedication and support toward the success of the programme.

The Speaker noted that the annual iftar serves as an important platform for strengthening relationships among leaders, encouraging humility and fostering unity between elected officials and the people they serve.

He also expressed optimism that the leadership of Bauchi State under Governor Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir would continue to find lasting solutions to political and developmental challenges facing the state.

Rt. Hon. Suleiman further urged citizens to remain hopeful and continue supporting the current administration in its efforts to deliver development and improve the wellbeing of the people.

The iftar was attended by commissioners, heads of government agencies, permanent secretaries, special advisers, party executives, members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, their spouses and hundreds of constituents.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of portraits of the Speaker and his wife, Haj. Abi Hafsat AYS, by Hashim Hussaini Gada in appreciation of their humanitarian services and community development initiatives.
