The initiative, organised through the Nabalago Foundation, featured a lecture themed “Key to Community Development: The Role of Women in Islam.” The programme brought together women from different wards in Ningi and neighbouring communities for religious enlightenment, prayers for leaders and the distribution of welfare packages.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the Speaker said the programme was aimed at strengthening community values, encouraging prayers for leaders and supporting families during Ramadan.
Addressing participants, Rt. Hon. Suleiman urged the public to uphold moral values, shun negative tendencies and remain committed to their parental responsibilities. He explained that the gathering was also an opportunity to appreciate women for their sacrifices, support and contributions to family and community development.
The Speaker noted that the Nabalago Foundation, with the support of his wife, Haj. Abi Hafsat AYS, had intensified its Ramadan outreach programmes across the constituency. According to him, the foundation aims to reach more than 15,000 beneficiaries during the holy month through the distribution of nutritious iftar meals, with over 500 people fed daily.
He also commended Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, and his wife for their continued efforts toward the development and transformation of the state.
The Chairperson of the Nabalago Foundation, Haj. Delivering the main lecture, renowned Islamic preacher Malama Zainab Musa Yahaya spoke extensively on the responsibilities of women within families and communities according to Islamic teachings. She cited examples from the lives of the wives of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), describing them as pillars of moral guidance and community development. She further urged women to prioritise the moral upbringing of their children and to pursue religious knowledge that would help build stronger families and communities.
