The Bauchi State House of Assembly (BAHA), under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi), has extended warm felicitations to the people of Bauchi State as the state marks its golden jubilee—50 years of statehood.
The Assembly noted that Bauchi attained statehood in 1976 and has since distinguished itself through its vast fertile land, year-round economic activities, rich human and natural resources, and enduring cultural heritage, earning it the reputation as Nigeria’s Pearl of Tourism.
In a goodwill message, the Speaker described the 50th anniversary as a historic milestone and a moment of collective pride that calls for reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to the ideals upon which the state was founded.
“Bauchi at 50 is a significant milestone that requires us to reflect, unite, honour our fallen heroes, and put ideas into action—regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences. As we progress, we must preserve and project the values, norms, and unique qualities bequeathed to us by our forebears through our words and actions, so that future generations can be proud,” the Speaker stated.
Rt. Hon. Suleiman подчеркed that Bauchi remains a hub of tourism, local and international trade, cultural festivals, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that the state belongs to all its inhabitants. He noted that sustaining peace, unity, and development should be regarded as a shared responsibility of every resident.
According to him, the golden jubilee should go beyond festivities and serve as a moment for collective prayers for lasting peace, economic prosperity, job creation, and the resolution of challenges impeding national growth.
The Speaker further urged citizens to actively participate in the anniversary activities with decorum, support the less privileged, and adhere strictly to rules and regulations throughout the celebration and beyond.
He also called on the people of Bauchi State to continue to support the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Ƙauran Daular Usmaniyya), describing him as a results-driven leader whose commitment to development remains evident across the state.
On behalf of all Honourable Members, Principal Officers, and Management Staff of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, the Speaker wished the state a smooth and memorable celebration, while praying for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.
