Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have condemned what they described as baseless and manipulative allegations linking Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Ƙauran Bauchi), to terrorism.
The legislators made their position known in a solidarity move aimed at reinforcing unity within the party and reaffirming confidence in the integrity and leadership of the Governor.
Led by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi), the PDP lawmakers expressed deep concern over what they termed reckless attempts to tarnish the image of leaders who have consistently demonstrated zero tolerance for violence, extremism, and criminality.
The lawmakers pledged their unwavering support for Governor Bala Mohammed, whom they described as a committed leader working tirelessly to improve the living standards of the people of Bauchi State.
“We condemn in totality the malicious prosecution and blatant falsehoods levelled against our Governor, accusing him of sponsoring terrorism in Nigeria. While we acknowledge that the PDP is currently facing challenges, we firmly believe that with the present party leadership, things will improve by God’s grace. However, irrespective of how events unfold, we stand firmly with our Governor. Wherever Ƙauran Bauchi goes, that is where we shall go,” the Speaker stated.
Rt. Hon. Suleiman further assured that PDP legislators in the State Assembly would remain united and continue to discharge their constitutional responsibilities toward the development of Bauchi State.
He noted that lawmakers, being closest to the grassroots, would sustain their full cooperation and support for the Governor in delivering people-oriented governance.
The move, according to the Speaker, reflects the PDP legislators’ loyalty, respect, and unwavering confidence in the leadership of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
