The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi), has commended the author of Success in Practical Physics, Malam Nasiru Suleiman Darazo — a native of Bauchi State and elder brother to Hon. Bldr. Sa’idu Suleiman Darazo, the lawmaker representing Darazo Constituency.
In a statement signed by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the Speaker expressed his admiration during the book launch held at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), where the author lectures. The event was attended by dignitaries from different walks of life, who gathered to celebrate his remarkable contribution to science education and encourage further innovation in the field.
Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar described the book as a vital resource that illuminates the practical aspects of physics for students. He commended BUK lecturers for their dedication to advancing science education, adding that the author’s achievement reflects the talent, perseverance, and commitment of Bauchi indigenes to national development.
The Speaker noted that the book’s focus on experimentation, observation, and hands-on problem solving aligns perfectly with the state’s vision to enhance science literacy and strengthen STEM education.
He further reiterated that by bridging theory and practice, the book provides teachers and students with effective approaches to understanding the physical world, fostering inquiry and critical thinking essential for innovation. According to him, the Bauchi State Government remains deeply committed to improving science education across all levels, and the book represents a resource that can empower teachers and motivate students toward scientific excellence.
The Speaker therefore urged educators, school administrators, and policymakers to explore ways of integrating the book into curricula, extracurricular activities, and laboratory work to ensure its widespread use. He also encouraged the author to continue engaging the education sector through workshops, teacher training, and regional science outreach programs.
The launch was attended by His Excellency, Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir (Ƙauran Bauchi), represented by the Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, Prof. Fatima Tahir. The governor purchased 50 copies of the book on behalf of the Bauchi State Government for ₦5 million, while the Speaker, on behalf of the 31 members of the House, bought 31 copies worth ₦500,000.
Malam Nasiru Suleiman expressed appreciation for the support and encouragement, pledging to use the proceeds judiciously and continue contributing to scientific learning in Nigeria.
