Life is a blessing, and among its greatest gifts are leaders who dedicate themselves selflessly to the service of others. In Bauchi State, one such leader stands tall—Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi, Barden Kudun Katagum, Dallatun Nasaru), the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, who today clocks 56 years.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, Dr. Suleiman was described as a democratic champion whose life has been defined by generosity, integrity, and a commitment to uplifting humanity.
Born into a family rooted in philanthropy, young Abubakar imbibed the values of compassion and service long before venturing into politics. After acquiring education and serving in the Executive Arm of Government, he transitioned into politics with a mission to empower youths, uplift women, and bridge community gaps through meaningful representation.
As a three-term legislator representing Ningi Central Constituency—and the only person to serve three times consecutively as Speaker in Bauchi State—Dr. Suleiman has been instrumental in delivering democratic dividends. From women empowerment initiatives to youth employment in paramilitary agencies, from educational scholarships to infrastructural projects, his legacy continues to reshape lives across Bauchi.
He is credited with linking electricity to long-neglected communities, providing free eye surgeries and maternal healthcare, supporting small-scale businesses, and annually sponsoring the Dangaladima Unity Cup to foster peace and youth engagement. His contributions to education also include the School Safety and Security Bill, which now safeguards pupils and teachers in Bauchi schools.
At the national level, his advocacy for the resumption of Kolmani oil exploration remains a landmark effort, reflecting his vision for regional and national economic growth.
Today, as Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman marks his 56th birthday, his story is one of resilience, stewardship, and unwavering service to the people of Ningi, Bauchi, and Nigeria at large.
May Allah continue to guide, protect, and bless him with long life, wisdom, and the strength to keep serving humanity.
Happy Birthday, Mr. Speaker!
