Bauchi Speaker Offers Free Medical Care to 700 Pregnant Women in Ningi and Warji

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi, Barden Kudun Katagum), has extended free maternal healthcare services to over 700 pregnant women across Ningi and Warji Local Government Areas in a bid to ease the financial burden of prenatal care and promote safe childbirth.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the Speaker said the initiative was aimed at reducing maternal health challenges, supporting families in need, and ensuring expectant mothers receive timely medical attention. The outreach included free ultrasound scans and medications.

The first phase of the outreach was conducted at Dorogo Maternity in Ningi town, where more than 300 pregnant women received free scanning and essential drugs. The overwhelming turnout exceeded expectations, and all beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the Speaker’s compassion, especially during such a difficult economic period.

The humanitarian effort extended to Warji Local Government, where over 250 women gathered at the Town Maternity Centre to benefit from the same medical services. The final phase of the outreach was held in Burra, where another 150 pregnant women were professionally attended to at no cost.

This initiative is one of many people-oriented programs driven by the Speaker’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of his constituents. His consistent interventions in healthcare, education, skills training, and community development have made him a beacon of hope and a model of impactful representation.

The Speaker reaffirmed his resolve to expand the medical outreach to more communities across the constituency, assuring that more initiatives will continue to be introduced for the well-being of the people.
