BAUCHI SPEAKER CONDUCTS TOWN HALL MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS
In a bid to connect with his constituents and address their concerns, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, recently conducted a town hall meeting in Ningi.
This is contained in a statement signed by the acting spokesperson of the speaker, Mukhtar Garba Kobi and released to news men in Bauchi.
The meeting, which was attended by community leaders, religious preachers, party members, and other stakeholders, provided a platform for residents to present their community problems and demands.
During the event, the Speaker highlighted his achievements over the past five years, including:
- Empowering women with capital to start businesses
- Distributing motorcycles and cars to supporters and constituents
- Providing sewing machines, spaghetti-making devices, and financial support to tea vendors
- Facilitating permanent appointments with the Federal Government and Bauchi State Government
- Constructing classrooms, boreholes, and roads
- Providing solar street lights, transformers, and electrification
- Supporting healthcare initiatives and sponsoring medical check-ups
- Promoting education through scholarship programs and infrastructure development
The Speaker emphasized his commitment to representing his constituents and solicited their cooperation, prayers, and advice to succeed in his mission.
The event was attended by fellow Honourable Members, including Hon. Tanko Ibrahim Burra, Hon. Garba Lawal, and Hon. Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala, who praised the Speaker's initiatives and promised to conduct similar meetings in their constituencies.
The Women Leader of PDP in Ningi, Hajiya Lami, showered encomiums on the Speaker and requested assistance with a road leading to a hospital and a mosque in her ward.
The Speaker concluded by thanking his wife, Hajiya Aby Hafsat, for inspiring the event and promised to work on all the demands submitted.
