Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly Felicitates with Governor Bala and Citizens on Democracy Day

The Honorable Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y Suleiman (Ɗan Galadiman Ningi), has extended his heartfelt felicitations to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and the citizens of Bauchi State on the occasion of Democracy Day.


This is contained in a statement signed by the acting spokesperson of the speaker, Mukhtar Garba Kobi.


The statement further says that celebrating 25 years of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria, Democracy Day marks a significant milestone, underscoring the power of the people in electing leaders who represent their interests through their constitutional right to vote.


Reflecting on the progress made, the Speaker expressed gratitude to both past and current leaders for their contributions to Bauchi State's development. He emphasized that the state has witnessed substantial achievements under the leadership of four governors, with notable improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic growth. The Speaker praised the current administration under Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for driving impactful changes that have transformed the state capital and beyond.


The Speaker also commended the members of the State House of Assembly for their dedication to alleviating economic hardships, eradicating poverty, and creating job opportunities for the youth. He called for continuous support from citizens, regardless of their religious, regional, or political affiliations. He urged them to pray for their leaders, support government policies, and assist security agencies in maintaining peace.


"Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We must all work together to ensure that our democratic journey continues to bring prosperity and development to Bauchi State," the Speaker stated.
