Bauchi Speaker Affirms Support for Governor, Amid Criticism

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y Suleiman (Dan Galadiman Ningi), has come under fire for his recent Facebook post expressing his loyalty and cordial relationship with Governor Bala Mohammed. While some have praised the speaker's gesture, others, mainly from the opposition, have criticized it as a sign of compromise and subservience to the executive arm.


In a statement released by the speaker's acting spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the speaker's position was clarified as a personal opinion and an expression of excitement over the governor's developmental projects in the state. The statement also noted that the governor has publicly referred to the speaker as his boss on several occasions, making the speaker's reciprocation a mere acknowledgement of their working relationship.
