PRESIDENT TINUBU: COMMITTED TO ACHIEVING FOOD SUFFICIENCY FOR NIGERIA




President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration's determination to revolutionize agriculture, aiming to make Nigeria self-sufficient in food production and a net exporter of agricultural products.

During a meeting with a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday, the President affirmed his commitment to supporting plans and efforts to provide assistance to Hajj pilgrims.

He stressed the significance of spiritual endeavors in nation-building and underscored his administration's dedication to supporting religious activities.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of collaboration between political and spiritual leaders to advance the nation's interests and foster unity among the populace.

Regarding agriculture, the President outlined plans to enhance agricultural productivity through various initiatives, including expanding farmlands, providing low-interest loans to farmers, and making significant investments in irrigation infrastructure.

"We are committed to equipping hospitals with modern equipment, offering healthcare professionals training opportunities, and ensuring social welfare for every citizen, including comprehensive health insurance coverage.

"Nigeria will transition into a net-exporter of food. We are procuring thousands of tractors, and food production will be significantly expanded through aggressive mechanization. Productivity is crucial to our progress as a people, aligning with the Sunnah and principles I grew up understanding," he said.

President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the Global Tijaniyya Movement for their support and prayers, stressing the importance of collective efforts in building a better Nigeria.

Sheikh Mahe Niass, the Khalifa of Tijaniyya, speaking on behalf of the delegation, commended President Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to Nigeria's peace, progress, and stability.

He expressed confidence in the President's leadership and conveyed the fervent support and prayers of members of the Global Tijaniyya Movement to the Nigerian leader.

During their visit, the delegation offered prayers for the nation's progress, unity, and prosperity, and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant President Tinubu wisdom, strength, and success.
