Renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Giro Argungu, Mourned by Northern Governors' Forum Chairman

In a solemn announcement, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum and Governor of Gombe State, expressed deep sorrow and grief at the passing of the distinguished Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu. The revered scholar departed from this world on the previous day after a brief illness, leaving a void that will be challenging to fill.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya conveyed the profound sense of loss not only felt within the Muslim Ummah but throughout the entire northern region and Nigeria as a whole. He emphasized that Sheikh Argungu's life had been a beacon of commitment to the teachings of Islam and a tireless advocate for peace and harmony.
Describing Sheikh Argungu as a distinguished scholar and exemplary leader, Governor Inuwa Yahaya recognized the late cleric's unwavering dedication to the propagation of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He emphasized that Sheikh Argungu's contributions to Islamic scholarship had left an indelible mark on countless hearts and minds, ensuring that his legacy would continue to inspire generations to come.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya, on behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the departed prominent scholar. Additionally, he expressed his sympathies to the leadership of the Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'ah wa Iqamatissunnah (JIBWIS), where Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu had played a significant role in advancing Islamic teachings. The Chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum acknowledged that while Sheikh Argungu's absence would be deeply felt, his teachings would persist as a guiding light.
Furthermore, Governor Inuwa Yahaya offered his sympathies to the Government and people of Kebbi State and the entire Muslim Ummah in Nigeria. He fervently prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the shortcomings of Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu and reward his numerous good deeds with a place in Jannatul Firdaus, the highest paradise in Islamic belief.
