Plateau State Governor Congratulates New NUJ Leadership, Emphasizes Journalism's Vital Role

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, extended his warm congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, in a statement released today.


The Governor commended Ayuku Pwaspo for her election as the Chairman of NUJ, Plateau State Council, describing her victory as a significant milestone for the journalism profession. He emphasized the importance of unity among the members to further enhance the noble field of journalism.


In addition to congratulating Ayuku Pwaspo, Governor Mutfwang also acknowledged and praised the dedication and commitment of other newly elected officials of the NUJ Plateau State Council. This includes Pam Musa as Vice Chairman, Mary Domtru as Secretary, Ezekiel D. Izang as Financial Secretary, Timothy Tyem as Assistant Secretary, Lyop Pam as Treasurer, and Celestine Astar as Auditor.


Governor Mutfwang underscored the vital role of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in the growth and development of democracy in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole. He urged NUJ members to uphold the ethical standards that define their profession and guide their work.


The Governor called upon the newly elected leadership to prioritize the welfare, well-being, and rights of journalists in Plateau State, expressing his confidence in their ability to create a conducive environment for journalists to excel in their field. He wished them a successful tenure in their respective roles.


The state looks forward to the positive contributions that this new leadership will make in advancing journalism and democracy in Plateau State.
