Kaduna Governor Launches Training of 7,000 Recruits for Kaduna Vigilance Service: Emphasizes Commitment to Strengthening Local Security
In a significant stride toward enhancing the security apparatus in Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, officially inaugurated the training program for 7,000 recruits of the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS) at the Police College in Kaduna.
The commencement of this comprehensive training program marks a pivotal moment in the administration's commitment to bolster the manpower and operational capacity of KADVS, a vital security agency in the state. Governor Uba Sani reiterated this commitment by highlighting the importance of this initiative in his administration's BLUEPRINT.
Governor Sani underscored the crucial role KADVS plays in collaborating with existing security agencies to combat criminal elements, particularly bandits. He emphasized that the shortage of personnel had hindered their efforts in the past, making the recruitment of 7,000 dedicated individuals an imperative step.
The rigorous selection process for the trainees was a collaborative effort, involving local government chairmen, traditional and religious leaders, grassroots stakeholders, and security agencies. Governor Sani expressed his confidence in the integrity and dedication of the selected recruits, describing them as "energetic young men and women of transparent honesty."
KADVS, a complementary security outfit, is expected to provide invaluable support to existing security agencies by offering actionable intelligence and leveraging its deep knowledge of the local terrain to root out criminal elements.
In his address to the recruits embarking on their training journey, Governor Sani urged them to exhibit seriousness, commitment, and discipline throughout their training. He expressed confidence that they would prove themselves worthy of joining the ranks of the Kaduna Vigilance Service.
Governor Sani, however, issued a stern warning against any misconduct, emphasizing that the primary mission of KADVS is to protect citizens and their rights. He assured that strict disciplinary measures would be taken against anyone violating operational guidelines or the code of conduct of the Service.
The Governor extended his heartfelt appreciation to traditional and religious leaders, local government chairmen, the Commissioner of Police for Kaduna State, the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Commandant of the Police College in Kaduna, and other heads of security agencies for their unwavering support.
As the training program officially kicked off, Governor Uba Sani concluded the ceremony by wishing the recruits success in their endeavors, marking the beginning of a new era for Kaduna's security landscape.
