Gombe Assembly Clears 7 Commissioner-Nominees; Additional Screening Set for Tomorrow

 




Gombe, September 7, 2023 – In a significant step towards forming a robust State Executive Council, the Gombe State House of Assembly successfully screened seven out of the 17 commissioner-nominees submitted by Governor Inuwa Yahaya.


The screening, held on Thursday, was a collaborative effort, with Speaker Rt.Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo presiding over the House's proceedings and Deputy Speaker Rt.Hon. Sadam Bello chairing the Adhoc committee responsible for the assessment.


The seven candidates who emerged successfully from the screening process are

Hon. Mijinyawa Ardo Tilde from Funakaye,

Hon. Asma’u Iganus from Shongom,

Hon. Barnabas Malle from Kaltungo and

Col. Abdullahi Bello (Rtd) from Balanga.

Others are Ass. Prof. Aishatu Umar Maigari from Dukku,

Hon. Abdulkadir Waziri from Akko and

Barr. Zubairu M. Umar from Funakaye.

These individuals will play crucial roles in shaping the policies and administration of Gombe State.

The remaining ten commissioner-nominees are scheduled for screening tomorrow, September 8th, 2023, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the candidates before their confirmation.

Safiyanu Danladi Mairiga, Special Assistant on Media to Gombe State Governor, highlighted the significance of this step in Governor Inuwa Yahaya's administration, underlining the commitment to forming a capable and efficient State Executive Council.

As the screening process continues, the people of Gombe eagerly await the announcement of their new commissioners, who will be entrusted with the responsibility of driving the state's progress and development.
