Concerns Arise Over Deteriorating Roads as Bauchi Governor Takes Action

Bauchi, Nigeria - September 10, 2023

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has expressed growing concern over the deteriorating state of roads in the state, attributing the worsening conditions to heavy rainfall. Governor Bala made this announcement during an inspection tour of the Darazo-Potiskum road, a crucial link between Bauchi and neighboring Yobe state.

During the inspection, Governor Bala directed the State Ministry of Works to initiate the construction of culverts as part of efforts to provide swift solutions for motorists affected by the road's current condition. The Darazo-Potiskum road holds significant importance for not only the North region but also for other parts of Nigeria.

The Governor took a moment to commend the contractor responsible for the project and urged the citizens of the state to exercise patience while assuring them of his administration's commitment to improving their lives and addressing the road infrastructure issues.

In a related development, Governor Bala also inspected the Darazo-Konkiyel road, which has suffered severe damage due to heavy rainfall. He pledged to take immediate action to rectify the situation.

These unscheduled inspection visits occurred as Governor Bala was returning from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, where he had attended the Northeast Governors' Forum (NEGF) meeting. The Governor's commitment to addressing the state's road infrastructure issues signals his determination to improve transportation and enhance the overall quality of life for Bauchi State residents.
