Borno State House of Assembly Presents Nine Key Bills to Governor Zulum for Assent :Legislature and Executive Collaborate to Strengthen Governance and Foster Development

In a significant display of unity and dedication to the betterment of Borno State, the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abdulkareem Lawan, accompanied by other principal officers, presented nine crucial bills to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for assent. These legislative measures are set to play a pivotal role in shaping the state's future.
The nine bills presented to Governor Zulum are as follows:
Borno State Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2023: Aimed at enhancing the administration of justice in the state.
Borno State Panel Court Reenactment and Other Matters Law 2023: A law that seeks to reform and improve the state's judicial system.
Borno State Drugs and Medical Consumables Agency Law 2023: Focused on regulating the management of medical resources and improving healthcare services.
Borno State Agency for Investment Promotion and Private Partnership Act 2023: Geared towards fostering investment and private partnerships within the state.
Borno State Social Investment Management Program Law 2023: Envisaged to address social welfare and development programs.
Borno State Secondary Education Board Law 2023: An important piece of legislation for enhancing the quality of secondary education.
Borno State Primary Health Care Development Agency Law 2023: Designed to improve primary healthcare services for the people.
Livestock Management Agency Law 2023: Focusing on effective management of livestock resources.
Local Government Services Amendment Act 2023: An amendment to enhance local government services.
During the presentation, Speaker Abdulkareem Lawan praised the leadership of Governor Zulum's administration, acknowledging its role in revitalizing Borno State despite numerous challenges. He emphasized the need for continued efforts to ensure peace, development, and progress in the region.
In response, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum commended the Borno State House of Assembly for the timely passage of these crucial bills. He highlighted the excellent synergy between the executive and legislative arms of government in Borno, emphasizing their shared commitment to the state's development.
Governor Zulum further explained that these newly passed bills will empower the government to address various pressing issues, including political thuggery, rape, natural resource management, revenue generation, medical resource allocation, and administrative discrepancies.
This collaborative effort between the legislative and executive branches reflects a collective determination to overcome challenges and drive positive change in Borno State. The assent of these bills holds the promise of a brighter and more prosperous future for the people of Borno.
